New here?

Your first visit.

You're not going to get thrown into the deep end. Here's exactly what happens from the moment you walk in.

Before you arrive

What to wear

Athletic clothes you can move in — shorts and a t-shirt are perfect. Bring a water bottle. For BJJ, we'll provide a gi for your first class. For Muay Thai, wear comfortable workout clothes — we provide gloves and all the equipment.

Where to park

We're located at 5829 S. Dale Mabry Highway, between Wisconsin Avenue and Wyoming Avenue. Our plaza has plenty of free parking available, so finding a spot before class is easy and convenient.

When to show up

Come 10 minutes early so we can show you around, answer questions, and pair you with a training partner. No paperwork — we keep it simple.

During class

Welcome & warmup

Your instructor introduces you to the room. Everyone knows you're new — and they've all been where you are. You'll warm up with the group. Nothing intense, just getting your body moving.

Technique instruction

Your instructor demonstrates a technique, breaks it down step by step, then you practice it with a partner. You'll be paired with someone experienced who knows how to work with beginners. You go at YOUR pace.

Controlled practice

You drill what you learned with your partner. Your instructor walks around giving individual corrections — that's the advantage of small classes. You're coached, not herded.

Cool down

Class winds down, you stretch, and people stick around to talk. This is where you start to feel the community. No one rushes out — it's a gym, but it feels like a hangout.

Questions everyone asks

Will I get hurt?

Safety is always our priority. You won't be thrown into sparring on your first day. Our instructors personally oversee every class and thoughtfully pair beginners with experienced training partners who know how to work at an appropriate pace. You'll be challenged, you may be sore, and you'll definitely learn—but you'll be guided through the process every step of the way.

I'm out of shape — is that OK?

That's exactly why people start. You don't get in shape to train martial arts. You train martial arts to get in shape. Come as you are.

What if I'm the only beginner?

You won't be — most of our members started with zero experience. But even if you are, the class is structured so beginners get individual attention. Nobody gets left behind.

Do I have to commit to anything?

Your first class is completely free. No credit card, no contract, no sales pitch at the end. If you love it, we'll talk options. If not, you got a great workout.
